African Story Books
‘The Senegalese Family’
‘The Senegalese Family’ is a short story which I illustrated for ‘African Storybook’ which is a project which aims to provide access to picture books in Africa, and the library in the Diapalante educational centre, based in Kaolack in Senegal. The aim for this project was to bring more culturally diverse books into their library - as a lot of their books depicted families and cultures which were not familiar to them. These basic language learning books will be translated by members of Diapalante into English, French, and Wolof!
The book will be both printed for the library and available on the African Storybook Website shortly!
This project was a super fun, and important one. Thanks a lot to Zara for getting me involved in this one, hopefully more stories to come in the new year!
